The Master’s Program accepts applicants who hold bachelor’s degrees from departments of higher education institutions (HEIs) in Greece and equivalent recognized institutions abroad, and specifically holders of bachelor’s degrees from HEI Schools of Science, Polytechnic Schools, Environmental Departments, and more generally departments of domestic or foreign HEIs with degrees relevant to the field of specialization of the M.Sc. program, such as the economic and legal aspects of hydrocarbons, as well as graduates of other departments of domestic or Technological Educational Institutes (TEI) in Greece or abroad, who are deemed, on a case-by-case basis and based on the relevance of their general and specific field of study, to meet the admission criteria for the M.Sc. program in accordance with Article 5 of the Master’s Program’s Operating Regulations.
The following are also admitted under special conditions regarding attendance and participation in the Master’s Program’s curriculum: employees in the Greek hydrocarbon industry who hold a bachelor’s degree as described above and have proven practical experience in the sector.
The M.Sc. program, following a decision by the Academic Program Committee, announces positions through an open application process. Specifically, the call for applications specifies the admission requirements, the number of available positions, the categories of candidates, the admission process, the selection criteria, etc., as well as the application deadlines and the required supporting documents.

The call for applications for graduate students is published on the website of the organizing School and the collaborating Schools and Faculty. Applications, accompanied by the required supporting documents, are submitted to the Secretariat of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program in electronic form.

The selection criteria for admitted students include the following:
I. Bachelor’s degree from a Greek or foreign institution.
II. Detailed grade transcript for undergraduate courses relevant to the M.Sc. program.
III. Performance on the Bachelor’s Thesis, where required in the undergraduate program.
IV. Research activity relevant to the field of specialization of the M.Sc. program.
V. Sufficient knowledge of the English language, as a prerequisite, at a level determined by the Program Committee. Certificate of good (level B2), very good (level C1), or excellent (level C2) knowledge of the English language, in accordance with the Council of Europe’s system, which is accepted by the ASEP. Alternatively, a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a Greek university or an equivalent foreign university may be submitted, demonstrating the successful completion of an English-language undergraduate or graduate program. Good or very good knowledge of the English language may be demonstrated by the candidate through a written examination administered under the responsibility of the Director at a designated time and place.

VI. At least two (2) recommendation letters from university departments/schools/faculties relevant to the field of study or from private or public institutions involved in the subjects covered by the Interdisciplinary Master’s Program.

VII. An oral interview, conducted at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki by the Three-Member Selection and Examination Committee appointed by the Academic Program Committee (A.P.C.) and composed of members of the A.P.C. The purpose of the interview is to assess the candidates’ academic experience and performance, as well as their ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills, etc.
VIII. Printed application form expressing interest in participating in the M.Sc. program.

IX. In addition to the supporting documents related to the above criteria, the candidate may submit, if available:
a. A master’s degree or degrees from a Greek university or an equivalent foreign institution. b. A doctoral degree from a Greek university or an equivalent foreign institution. c. Certificates attesting to a very good knowledge of French, German, Italian, or Spanish. If the candidate is a foreign national, they may also submit certificates attesting to their knowledge of the Greek language. d. Supporting documents regarding any research and writing activities, participation in student mobility programs, and professional experience relevant to the field of specialization of the M.Sc. program. The above supporting documents must be submitted as electronic copies.

Students who are expected to graduate and receive their degree during the October–November period of each academic year are also eligible to apply. For these students to participate in the selection process, they must submit a certificate of studies showing that they have completed their studies, stating their degree grade, and indicating that the graduation ceremony is pending. Their enrollment will be finalized upon submission of a copy of their degree.
